Job summary

Closeknit in Rockville, MD seeks a Cybersecurity Officer to lead security programs, collaborate with IT, Legal, Risk, and Compliance, and ensure robust controls across systems and data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, IT, cybersecurity or related field; substitution with 4 years of related experience allowed.
• 10+ years of cybersecurity, information security, or related technology field.
• Knowledge of Azure and Entra ID management; experience with EHRs (Athena preferred).
• Experience in patient-facing care settings with providers (hospital/clinic).
• Certifications such as CISSP, CRISC, CISA, or CISM preferred.
• Familiarity with ISO 27001 and HIPAA Security Rule; governance, risk management, process improvement, security architecture.

Responsibilities

• Supports development, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise cybersecurity programs and controls.
• Collaborates with stakeholders, IT, and product teams to integrate cybersecurity requirements.
• Maintains understanding of business functions, systems, data, and customer needs to support cybersecurity objectives.
• Promotes adoption of Cybersecurity Framework and security best practices.
• Provides cybersecurity consultation for projects, systems and vendor engagements.
• Recommends technical security controls to protect enterprise systems.
• Coordinates with Legal, Risk, Privacy, Compliance, and IT to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Identifies, assesses, and mitigates cybersecurity risks across the organization.
• Supports development of strategic and tactical cybersecurity initiatives.
• Evaluates security processes and recommends improvements.
• Participates in cybersecurity assessments, audits, and compliance activities.
• Maintains knowledge of threats, technologies, standards, and industry best practices.
• Works across departments to support business objectives while maintaining security controls.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
