Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking an experienced Healthcare Cost Analyst to deliver data-driven insights into medical cost trends. The role focuses on large-scale analytics, storytelling with data, and influencing strategic decisions.

You will work with matrix partners to develop analytics that quantify the value of programs and track outcomes. Requirements include a Bachelor's degree and 5 years in medical economics or analytics within the health payer sector.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Health, Economics, Mathematics/Actuarial Sciences or related area.
5 years of Medical Economics, Healthcare Analytics, Informatics and/or Actuarial Services in the health care payer sector.
Strong coding background (R, R Shiny, Python, SQL, etc.) and dashboard experience with Tableau/Power BI/R Shiny.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic insights into emerging medical cost trends with executive-ready presentations.
Extract, summarize and analyze large datasets via SAS, SQL or similar tools.
Assess savings opportunities and project post-implementation savings and business cases.
Drive independent medical cost analytics and present findings to key business partners.
Communicate clearly in verbal and executive-level presentations; collaborate across departments.
