Job summary

UCHealth Estes Valley Medical Center in Estes Park, CO, is hiring a cook to prepare food for patients, the cafeteria, and catering services. This onsite role follows standardized recipes and works with the supervisor to ensure meals are ready on time.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High School diploma or GED, or UCHealth-administered basic competency test (except for YVMC).
• Minimum Experience: one year of cook experience.
• Preferred: scratch cooking, healthcare food service, hotel, catering, institutional, or high-volume restaurant cooking experience.

Responsibilities

• Reviews menu and special orders to determine types and quantities of food items to be prepared.
• Follows standardized recipes in preparation of all foods and plans cooking schedule with supervisor/exec chef to ensure timely readiness.
• Confers with supervisor/exec chef regarding modified diet preparation and use of leftovers.
• Adheres to guidelines for storage, handling, preparation, sanitation, and maintenance of work area.
