Job summary

The Broadmoor At Creekside Park is seeking a full-time Cook/Assistant Chef to prepare patient meals according to approved menus and ensure sanitation and safety standards are met. You will work in a healthcare setting, label and store leftovers, and assist in training Nutrition Services staff as needed.

Responsibilities include coordinating meal preparation, maintaining food safety protocols, and supporting the Nutrition Services Director to deliver high-quality meals to residents.

Qualifications

• Current state Food Manager Certificate.
• Experience in quality food preparation and production in either long-term care or healthcare setting is preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.

Responsibilities

• Prepares or directs preparation of food items on assigned/scheduled menus.
• Adheres to food production and usage schedules and avoids waste.
• Label, date, and store food items/leftovers after use.
• Maintains sanitation of equipment and utensils, all work, and storage areas by cleaning immediately after use.
• Prepares or directs preparation of special items, meals, and snacks.
• Instructs and supervises workers as needed and identifies with patient name, room number, date, and time.
• Checks trays for flavor and temperature before serving.
• Manages inventory and notifies nutrition services director of shortages or discrepancies.
