Job summary

Preferred Care At Absecon seeks a Cook to join our healthcare team in Absecon, NJ. The role involves preparing and serving meals, including texture-modified and therapeutic diets, in line with the facility menu and regulatory standards.

You will support receiving, storage, preparation, serving, sanitation, and cleaning, while acting as a team player and maintaining a polished appearance. Training will be provided to ensure high-quality patient-focused service.

Qualifications

• Specialized training in food service is desirable.
• Ability to read, speak and understand English.
• Ability to follow time schedules for meal preparation and serving.
• Maintains a neat, clean, well-groomed appearance.
• Experience working in facilities with quantity food production.

Responsibilities

• The Cook prepares and serves food including texture modified and therapeutic diets according to the facility menu.
• Prepares food in accordance with applicable standards and policies to ensure quality service.
• Assists in proper receiving, storage, preparation, serving, sanitation, and cleaning procedures.
• Must be detail-oriented, well-groomed, professional, and a team player.
• Assist dietary aides as necessary and direct other staff in absence of the Dining Services Director.
