A commercial construction firm is adding a client-side Construction Manager to support healthcare projects across Arizona. These owners bring the firm in to manage their projects for them. In this role you represent the owner's interests from planning through turnover: you hold the design team and general contractor accountable for budget, schedule, and quality, and you make sure the finished facility works for the clinical teams who will use it.
What You'll Do:
- Represent the owner on healthcare projects, including clinics, outpatient facilities, imaging, and hospital renovations and expansions
- Oversee the design and construction teams, keeping projects on budget, on schedule, and aligned with owner goals
- Review and approve contractor pay applications, change orders, schedules, and cost reports
- Lead owner, architect, and contractor (OAC) meetings and provide clear status and risk reporting to owner leadership
- Help owners through budgeting, delivery method selection, procurement, and contract administration
- Bring clinical staff, facility teams, and end users into design and construction decisions
- Oversee infection control, interim life-safety, and phasing plans when work happens in operating facilities
- Coordinate medical equipment, specialty systems, commissioning, inspections, and turnover
- Build trusted, long-term relationships with owner stakeholders and community leadership
What We're Looking For:
- 5+ years of construction project management, with significant healthcare project experience
- Background in owner's representation, in-house facilities or capital projects (hospital, health system, ASC, or imaging), or a GC/CM firm working on the owner's behalf
- Strong command of budgets, schedules, contracts, pay app review, and change management
- Working knowledge of healthcare MEP systems and codes and standards (FGI, NFPA 99/101, CMS, Joint Commission/DNV)
- Familiarity with CMAR and Design-Build delivery
- Polished communicator who can advocate for the owner and work well with design and construction teams
- Experience with tribal, rural, or community healthcare projects a strong plus
- Familiarity with Arizona Department of Health Services licensing requirements a plus
- Proficient in Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office/Project
- Bachelor's in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred
- Valid driver's license and comfort with regular travel between Arizona and Idaho
- Location: Scottsdale, AZ, with regular travel to Idaho and project sites
- Type: Full-time, direct hire
- Compensation: DOE, plus a 5-15% discretionary bonus
- Perks: $800-$1,200/month vehicle allowance, gas card, company card, and full benefits
