Job summary

HITT Contracting Inc. in Falls Church, VA seeks an experienced Commercial Construction Assistant Superintendent for Healthcare projects. You will support safety, quality, and scheduling on occupied healthcare facilities, coordinating with subs and owners to ensure patient safety and operational continuity.

The role emphasizes coordination of MEP, infection-control measures, and phased work while maintaining thorough documentation and relationships with teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; four-year degree from an accredited university with a concentration in construction, engineering, or business strongly preferred
• 2-5 years' experience in commercial construction, healthcare or occupied-space construction a plus
• Tenant renovations, service work, occupied spaces, weekend work, and fast-paced project experience a plus
• Project lead experience a plus
• Ability to master sector software systems including Microsoft Office suite (Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), ProCore, Adobe, BlueBeam
• OSHA 30 Certification preferred
• Ability to walk and/or stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
• Strong communication, teamwork, organization, integrity, and adaptability

Responsibilities

• Understand and administer the HITT safety program across all subcontractors, including reporting of accidents and assisting in safety inspections
• Maintain quality standards and verify work against drawings, specs, submittals, mockups, testing and manufacturer instructions
• Help formulate project schedule and rolling three-week look-ahead; coordinate phased work and inspections
• Maintain relationships with subcontractors and ensure fair treatment and collaboration
• Ensure daily documentation of work orders, inspections, photos, as-builts, and shutdown logs; manage scope and changes
• Assist in developing site team, logistics, and long-lead item expediting
• Support infection-control risk assessment and interim life-safety measures; containment and negative-air checks
• Assist in SOPs for utility shutdowns, tie-ins, energization, and post-work verification
• Support field coordination of MEP systems, medical gas, controls, low-voltage, owner-furnished equipment; confirm installation sequence
