Job summary

Texana Center is seeking a Compliance/Rights Officer to lead the development, implementation and oversight of the Compliance Plan. The role handles anonymous complaint investigations, serves as Rights Protection Officer, and supervises medical records with HIPAA compliance.

It reports to the CEO and works a standard 40-hour week, with occasional additional assignments to meet program needs. The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field, a Texas driver’s license, and at least 3

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study.
Texas driver’s license in good standing as defined by Texana Center’s procedure
3 years of experience in a healthcare or related business setting.
Experience in providing training to groups of people.
Experience in preparing complex written reports with close attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement and oversee the Compliance Plan.
Investigate anonymous complaints regarding fraud, waste or abuse.
Serve as Rights Protection Officer and ensure expeditious handling of complaints.
Oversee electronic health record compliance with HIPAA, privacy and access controls.
Custodian of Medical Records; oversee subpoenas and records requests; supervise Medical Records Specialist.
Pull, redact and send electronic medical records as needed.
Provide updates to Senior Leadership Team and Board.
