Job summary

Jupiter Medical Center, Inc. seeks a Healthcare Internal Auditor to support the Compliance Department with regulatory expertise and risk assessments. This role will help administer the Corporate Compliance Program and develop audit plans across Medicare/Medicaid rules, HIPAA, and HITECH.

The position focuses on independent audits, data-driven reporting, and fostering governance education while maintaining program documentation and training materials for management and executives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, health care operations, or a clinical field.
• At least three years healthcare audit or compliance experience.
• EMR experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid documentation and coding rules.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Understanding of HIPAA, HITECH, Stark, False Claims Act.

Responsibilities

• Conduct risk assessments and assist in developing annual audit plans.
• Assist the Compliance Officer in administering the Corporate Compliance Program.
• Develop audit programs to address regulatory risks and evaluate compliance with requirements.
• Assess control weaknesses and document audit work.
• Prepare reports and collaborate with management on action plans.
• Measure and track audit results and follow up on corrective actions.
• Maintain knowledge of governmental and regulatory requirements and provide education to management and governance.
• Maintain Compliance Department databases and reporting processes; contribute to training modules.
• Assist in developing, updating policies, workflows, and procedures; perform other duties as assigned.
