Job summary

St. Charles Health System is seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to provide independent assurance across operational, financial, compliance, and strategic activities.

The role analyzes governance, risk management, and internal controls, and supports the organization with data-driven insights. The position leads audits, mentors staff, develops risk registers, and partners with cross-functional teams to strengthen the organization’s compliance program.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of audit, accounting, analytics, or compliance experience.
• Supervisory experience and nonprofit/healthcare industry exposure.
• CPA, CISA, or CIA required or must be obtained within six months.
• Knowledge of audit analytics tools such as ACL/IDEA, Power BI, Tableau is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the annual risk-based internal audit plan.
• Lead and perform audits across governance, risk management, and controls.
• Assess design and effectiveness of controls using analytics and testing.
• Prepare reports, present findings, and support corrective actions.
• Manage the Internal Audit internship/light duty program and mentor staff.
• Maintain risk registers, audit universe, and related documentation.
