BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina is seeking a claims processor to ensure accurate and timely processing of medical claims in a full-time, on-site role at 17 Technology Cir, Columbia, SC.

The position requires a US citizen for security clearance and offers comprehensive benefits including health, 401(k), life insurance, PTO and on-site amenities. You will review coding, resolve edits, and coordinate with internal departments to maintain accurate patient and provider data.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Strong analytical, organizational and customer service abilities.

• Good judgment and basic math skills.
• Proficient with basic office software and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Research and processes claim according to business regulation, internal standards and processing guidelines. Verifies the coding of procedure and diagnosis codes.
• Resolves system edits, audits and claims errors through research and use of approved references and investigative sources.
• Coordinates with internal departments to work edits and deferrals, updating the patient identification, other health insurance, provider identification, and other files, as necessary.
