Job summary

BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina is seeking a Claims Processor I to join our Florence team. This on-site, part-time role (20 hours/week) runs Monday–Friday, 8am–12pm, with five weeks of training from 8am–4:30pm.

You will research and process claims, verify procedure and diagnosis codes, resolve edits, and coordinate with internal departments. We seek candidates with a high school diploma, strong analytical and communication skills, and basics in business math.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong analytical, organizational and customer service skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient spelling, punctuation and grammar.
• Good judgement and basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Researches and processes claims according to business regulations and processing guidelines.
• Verifies coding of procedure and diagnosis codes.
• Resolves system edits, audits and claims errors.
• Coordinates with internal departments to work edits and deferrals and update patient IDs and files.
