Morrison Healthcare, part of Compass Group, seeks a Retail Manager for its Northwestern Lake Forest Cafeteria operation. The role oversees the successful retail/cafeteria service under the Director of Dining Services, ensuring efficient daily functions, customer satisfaction, and staff development.

The position requires leadership, budgeting and cost controls, and strong communication with patients and colleagues. The team focuses on safe, high‑quality service in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–3 years of retail foodservice management experience.
• Knowledge of food, catering trends, sanitation, and presentation.
• P&L accountability and contract‑managed service experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plans and supervises special functions, maintains payroll records, and oversees hiring and training of hourly team members.
• Ensures customer satisfaction and strong public relations through safe and efficient resource use.
• Directs staff to provide scheduled retail services in line with corporate policies and presentation standards.
• Trains staff in customer service, portioning, cashier skills, and safety/sanitation.
• Completes all daily, weekly or monthly reports as outlined in corporate policies and procedures and meets deadlines.
• Communicates effectively with all team members, patients and families.
• Implements and maintains cash handling standards to prevent theft of services or company funds.
