Qualifications

• AA Degree and/or equivalent required with minimum 3 years of medical/dental billing experience.
• ICD-9-CM knowledge preferred and HIPAA compliance understanding.
• Familiarity with patient management billing software and payer workflows.

Responsibilities

• Enter patient, provider and payer data accurately into the billing system.
• Bill private insurance, Medi-Cal, Medicare, crossovers, workers comp and private payers.
• Post and balance payments; correct erroneous postings; issue refunds when needed.
• Communicate with insurers and patients to resolve discrepancies and appeals.
• Stay current on billing changes for Medi-Cal, Medicare and related providers.
