Job summary

MACT Health Board in Angels Camp, CA is seeking a detail oriented Billing and Coding Specialist for a full-time role. You will ensure patients are registered in the billing and collection system in accordance with policy for third party resources, and you will serve as account representative for an assigned location.

Responsibilities include entering data, billing private insurance, Medi-Cal, Medicare, adjudication, posting payments, correcting amounts, communicating with insurers and patients,

Qualifications

• AA degree or equivalent; minimum 3 years of medical/dental billing experience.
• ICD-9-CM coding knowledge preferred.
• Familiar with Electronic Patient Management billing software and workflows.
• HIPAA regulations knowledge for compliant billing processes.
• Current AAPC membership; BLS/ALS certificate preferred.
• Must pass Occupational Health Screening and I-9 verification; DMV record in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Enter data for patients, providers and payer types accurately.
• Bill private insurance, Medi-Cal, Medicare, crossovers, workers comp and private pay patients.
• Post and balance payments in the billing software; correct erroneous postings.
• Correspond with insurers, payers and patients to settle discrepancies or file appeals.
• Analyze completeness and enter daily charges; meet daily billing deadlines.
• Stay updated on changes to Medi-Cal, Medicare and related providers.
