Cooper Norcross Health in Camden, NJ, is seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Verification Specialist to join its Financial Clearance team. The role focuses on validating insurance coverage and benefits before services, ensuring smooth financial clearance for patients across inpatient and outpatient settings.

You will verify eligibility, obtain pre-authorizations, coordinate benefits, and communicate plan details to patients.

Formación

• 2 years of insurance verification or registration experience in a hospital or physician office.
• Experience with payer online portals and third-party eligibility systems.
• Proficiency in IDX Flowcast, EPIC EMR, and related software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsabilidades

• Verify insurance eligibility and plan benefits for patients.
• Contact patients with inactive insurance to obtain updated information.
• Validate coordination of benefits between carriers.
• Explain coverage and benefits to patients when needed.
• Secure authorizations and pre-certs for services internal and external to Cooper.
• Create referrals for patients with a Cooper PCP and contact external PCPs.
• Refer patients with less than 100% coverage to Financial Screening Navigators.
• Identify copayments, deductibles, and coinsurance.
• Collect and process patient liability payments prior to service.
