Job summary

Amedisys Home Health in Louisiana is seeking an Administrative Benefits Verifier to support our home health team. You will review referrals, obtain authorizations, and input patient benefit data into the EMR to ensure accurate reimbursement.

We offer $17.00–$20.00 per hour, a full benefits package, paid time off, and wellness and family-support programs. Benefits eligibility varies by position and shift.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years' experience in a medical office/home health benefit verification or billing.
• Demonstrated knowledge of commercial insurance carriers' guidelines and criteria of verification, authorization, and reimbursement.
• Familiar with insurance billing and terminology.

Responsibilities

• Review referral information for accuracy in the EMR system.
• Obtain authorizations while maintaining confidentiality with regulations.
• Obtain information from agencies to assist with receiving authorizations and re-authorizations from private insurance and other payors.
• Enter all patient benefit and authorization information into the EMR system.
• Respond to calls, emails, and inquiries regarding the status of outstanding referrals and/or authorization information.
• Provide other administrative support to the department as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
