Job summary

Withum seeks a healthcare-focused Audit Engagement Leader to join our Auditing and Attest team in New York. You will manage planning, fieldwork, and final reporting for healthcare clients, mentoring staff and maintaining strong client relationships.

This role requires a CPA or progress towards CPA, 3+ years of public accounting experience, and proven leadership. Travel to client sites will be required. We offer a competitive benefits package and performance-based bonus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting and CPA license, or progress toward CPA with parts passed.
• At least 3 years of public accounting experience, leading engagements and supervising staff.
• Healthcare industry experience and knowledge of healthcare organizations.
• Understanding of uniform guidance as it relates to healthcare.
• Strong analytical, technical, and auditing skills with knowledge of US GAAP.
• Excellent client service, communication skills and ability to manage multiple engagements.
• Travel ability as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead audit engagements from planning to completion and supervise staff.
• Oversee day-to-day operations of audit engagements, including staffing and risk assessment.
• Mentor engagement staff and maintain client relationships.
• Collaborate on issue resolution and regulatory matters arising during engagements.
• Manage multiple engagements and budgets, and provide guidance to team members.
• Participate in professional development programs as an instructor or leader.
