Job summary

Wipfli is offering a healthcare Audit & Accounting internship where you will gain hands-on experience in accounting, audit, and data analysis. This in-person role requires full-time interns regularly working five days a week in a Wipfli office or at client sites.

You will respond to client requests, gather information, and prepare financial outputs while developing GAAP expertise and professional skills within a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelors or Master's degree in Accounting.
• GPA above average; preferred 3.0 or higher.
• Working toward CPA eligibility after graduation.
• Preferred coursework in Data Analytics or Big Data.
• Ability to think independently and make decisions based on education and experience.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and staff.
• Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States full-time; no visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Respond to client and firm associate requests in a timely, accurate, positive and professional manner.
• Gather information from clients to complete required documents.
• Use data analysis to discover information and patterns to support recommendations.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency.
• Perform audit, review, and compliance testing per professional standards as directed by engagement leaders.
• Communicate open items or testing problems with engagement leaders in a timely manner.
• Prepare or review financial statements, footnotes, and management reports.
• Develop technical accounting competency, especially GAAP related to the product line.
• Assist team with Medicare/Medicaid cost report reimbursements.
