Job summary

Northfield Hospital + Clinics is seeking an American Sign Language Interpreter to bridge communication between healthcare staff and deaf or hard-of-hearing patients. The role supports access to care across hospital and clinics in Northfield, MN.

Responsibilities include interpreting at various sites as needed, with hours varying up to 10 hours per week and additional evening/weekend opportunities. Must have ASL/EN interpreter training and RID/NIC or CDI certification.

Qualifications

• ASL and English proficiency for accurate interpretation between Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing patients and hearing staff.
• Completion of an ASL/English Interpreter training program or equivalent education/experience.
• RID NIC or CDI certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as an interpreter between staff and deaf or hard-of-hearing patients and families to facilitate access to care.
• Interpret at various clinic sites and the hospital in Northfield as needed.
