Job summary

HHS is seeking a seasoned culinary leader to oversee food service for Lutheran Home - CNS and related facilities. You will manage a chef-led program, develop menus aligned with patient and resident needs, and travel between four facilities to support the team.

The role requires 5+ years as a sous or executive chef in healthcare, a culinary degree, and a proactive, organized leadership style. Competitive pay is offered with full benefits and advancement opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree from an accredited culinary program.
  • 5+ years experience as a sous or executive chef in healthcare/senior living or related settings.
  • Willingness to relocate for promotion opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Build a well-trained and motivated team that produces high-quality food while adhering to safety, sanitation, and service principles
  • Provide leadership that supports a team environment that fosters morale, passion, quality, and respect
  • Develop creative menus that are in sync with current market trends
  • Demonstrate continuous ability to maintain and/or improve customer and resident satisfaction
  • Lead and manage team member recruiting, training, development, scheduling, and assignments
  • Execute, maintain, and monitor quality control systems to protect food integrity
  • Drive compliance with health, safety, and industry regulatory agencies
  • Manage forecasting, recipe costing, inventory, ordering, production, planning, schedules, payroll, and supplies to ensure budget compliance

Salary - Salary Plan, 100,000.00 USD Annual

Responsibilities

Provide high-quality food service for residents in a senior living communities to create a comforting environment where they can enjoy their golden years. Share your passion for your craft, respect for great food, and an appreciation for our chef-led philosophy. Enjoy most nights and weekends off while growing your career and income in an engaging and rewarding environment. Travel Between 4 facilities to support the Team.

Requirements
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree from an accredited culinary program plus 5+ years experience as a sous or executive chef in fine dining, hotels/resorts, country clubs, or healthcare/senior living
  • Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and ordering platforms
  • A passion for food, a desire to grow, and a work ethic that supports both
  • Must be willing to relocate for promotion opportunities
Not Required But a Big Plus
  • Proficiency in languages other than English, especially Spanish
  • Familiarity with OSHA, The Joint Commission, and other regulatory requirements
  • Familiarity with HACCP procedures
