Job summary

Northwood Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Lowell, MA is seeking an Accounts Receivable Assistant to join our finance team. The AR Assistant supports day-to-day accounting, billing, and cash handling in a skilled nursing setting.

You will discuss billing with residents and responsible parties, maintain records, back up payroll, and handle Medicaid redeterminations as applicable. This full-time role offers competitive weekly pay and opportunities for career growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Six (6) months of bookkeeping or accounting experience; healthcare accounting experience preferred.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.

Responsibilities

• Discuss billing situations with residents and/or responsible parties, including the Director of Finance.
• Maintain accurate and timely records and reports, including all accounts, journals, deposits, ledgers, and more.
• Secure all cash and valuables on hand, per policy.
• Back-up for the Payroll position.
• Complete Medicaid redeterminations when applicable.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Director of Financial Services.
