Job summary

Keck Hospital of USC seeks an Analyst of Clinical Operations Business Intelligence to design analytics dashboards and lead knowledge management efforts that optimize care value. You will collaborate with physicians, nurses and administrators to gather requirements and deliver data-driven insights that improve outcomes, reduce length of stay and hospital costs.

The role requires strong experience in analytics, data visualization, and data science techniques, with a focus on actionable performance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer engineering, or data science.
• Master's degree in Health Administration, Nursing, Industrial Engineering, Analytics preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience in business/data analytics, healthcare analytics, healthcare quality, clinical and operations decision support or related field.
• Working knowledge of back-end databases, spreadsheets, word processing, statistical software, analytical models, data visualization programs (Tableau, Qlikview, Qliksense, Power BI).
• Knowledge of operational, clinical and financial statistics and data analyses techniques.
• Expert knowledge in Python, R, and/or SQL software programming.
• Ability to manage, analyze, and derive clinical and operational insights from health system information technologies.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities and ability to collaborate with physicians, administrators and frontline staff.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop knowledge management tools based on clinical requirements to improve value.
• Develop solutions that embed and extract relevant patient information into health information systems to support quality and operations initiatives.
• Applies engineering and data science principles in planning, coordinating and executing operational and research activities.
• Provide data science expertise to support data-driven decision making.
• Perform analysis to produce meaningful insights and actionable metrics to track clinical operations performance across the organization.
• Develop ROI formulas and calculations to measure project impact.
• Attends to administrative details including performance reports and data collection.
• Build collaborative relationships with clinicians and administrative leaders to drive process improvements.
