Job Title: Data Analyst – Healthcare Analytics

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly analytical and self-motivated Data Analyst to join our healthcare analytics team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on solving complex problems, optimizing workflows, and making data-driven decisions that drive meaningful change across care delivery models. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with clinical, actuarial, and IT stakeholders to analyze performance trends and deliver insights that improve both patient outcomes and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, clean, and analyze large-scale healthcare datasets, including claims, EMR, and utilization records.
  • Build and automate SQL queries to support recurring and ad hoc reporting for clinical leadership.
  • Develop interactive dashboards and performance reports for medical management teams.
  • Conduct root cause analyses for metrics such as readmission rates, care delays, and quality issues.
  • Identify trends, cost drivers, and resource gaps to support strategic planning and staffing models.
  • Design and implement workflow improvements based on actionable data insights.
  • Collaborate with actuarial and clinical teams to forecast demand and inform resource allocation.
  • Partner with IT to enhance data integration and reporting system capabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and CMS reporting requirements.
  • Present findings to executive leadership using compelling visualizations and storytelling techniques.
  • Support accreditation, value-based care, and regulatory reporting initiatives.
  • Evaluate care delivery models and contribute to initiatives that improve patient outcomes.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proficiency in statistical programming languages such as Python, R*, SAS, and SQL*.
  • Strong experience writing complex SQL queries for data extraction and transformation across large databases (e.g., MS SQL Server, Databricks).
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented data structures and database architecture.
  • Experience designing front-end interfaces or data entry forms to collect user input or enhance data integrity.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, anticipate stakeholder needs, and deliver results under minimal direction.
  • Resourceful and solutions-oriented, with the ability to manage unexpected challenges and deliver under tight timelines.
  • High attention to detail and a strong commitment to data accuracy, security, and compliance.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
