Job summary

Washington County Hospital and Nursing Home is seeking an Accountant to manage the financial operations of our facilities, ensuring accurate recording, reporting, and compliance with healthcare financial regulations. You will support budgeting, billing, cost reporting, auditing, and financial analysis.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, with MBA preferred, and experience in hospital accounting.

Qualifications

Candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree with Accounting or Finance concentration.
MBA is preferred.
Experience in hospital or nursing home accounting is helpful.
Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement, budgeting and audits is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
Strong leadership and teamwork skills are essential.
Self-motivated, flexible, organized, and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

Prepare, examine, and analyze financial records and statements for healthcare operations according to GAAP/GASB.
Prepare month-end journal entries and reconcile accounts.
Drive budget preparation and monitor facility revenues and expenses.
Own internal and external audits and cost reports, including documentation.
Analyze and consolidate cost accounting procedures and related reports.
Maintain and update financial databases and accounting systems.
Manage finance-based projects.
