Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Nursing Assistant/Health Unit Coordinator for the 5th floor Med-Surg Oncology (MS5) unit in Burnsville, MN. The role supports nursing staff, handles patient care tasks and coordinates unit communications.

The position is a .6 FTE with 12-hour night shifts, every third weekend, and responsibility for patient care, documentation, and environment upkeep within the unit.

Qualifications

• Proficient in patient care documentation
• Ability to operate medical equipment and basic office devices
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal care, ambulation, nutrition and hydration as directed
• Take and record vital signs and report changes promptly
• Answer call lights and respond to patient needs on time
• Maintain patient privacy, safety and comfort at all times
• Coordinate daily unit activities and patient transfers as required
• Document care provided and communicate updates to the health care team
