Job summary

Avera Milbank Area Hospital in Milbank, SD is seeking a friendly unit/department receptionist to support patient flow and front desk operations.

You will greet patients and families, answer questions, direct visitors, enter admission information, schedule appointments, and distribute patient education materials while maintaining a clean, organized work area and coordinating with care teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to work various shifts including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Visual acuity and clear communication with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and families, answer inquiries, direct and assist them.
• Answer calls, page and announce information; assist visitors and provide directions during emergencies.
• Enter patient admission/registration information and assist with forms, scheduling, and distributing materials.
• Assist with transfer and discharge paperwork and coordinate with receiving departments.
• Support RN/LPN/Patient Care Tech in meeting patient care needs on the unit/department.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and restock supplies as needed.
