Job summary

Baylor University Medical Center- Dallas, TX. is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator to perform clerical duties and coordinate communication to support patient care activities within the Med Surg Unit.

The position is full-time and includes weekend shifts, with engagement in a fast-paced hospital setting. Responsibilities include maintaining patient charts, processing tests and admissions, handling phones, managing records, and coordinating supplies and transportation.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED is required.
• Less than 1 year of experience.
• Health Unit Coordinator Training Program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs clerical duties to support patient care activities and maintain charts.
• Processes admissions, transfers, discharges, tests, and appointments.
• Answers phones and communicates with nurses, physicians, and staff.
• Maintains records, forms, and reference documents in an organized area.
• Coordinates transportation, supplies, and equipment as needed.
