Job summary

UW Health is seeking a part-time Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) at American Family Children’s Hospital in Madison, WI. The role supports a warm, welcoming unit atmosphere and coordinates daily operations, communications, and clerical tasks to ensure smooth patient care delivery.

Shifts are evening-based; 20 hours per week with varied times including 3pm-11:30pm and 7pm-11:30pm. High school diploma required with 1 year of medical or customer service experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Minimum of 1 year of medical or customer service experience is required.
• 1 year of experience in a medical environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and facilitate day-to-day operations of a unit.
• Answer phones, organize files, order supplies, handle correspondence, manage databases, and provide general support.
• Collaborate with the clinical team to coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Maintain accurate electronic health records and perform clerical duties.
