Job summary

El Paso Children's Hospital Corporation in El Paso, TX is seeking an Entry Level Nursing Assistant to join the night shift PRN team on the nursing unit. You will support nursing staff, assist visitors, and help maintain a clean, safe environment.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma, completion of a Nursing Assistant program, current BLS, and about one year of nursing assistant experience; hospital setting experience is preferred.

Qualifications

Job Details: Level: Entry, Job Location: El Paso Childrens Hospital - El Paso, TX 79905, Position Type: PRN, Job Shift: Night, Job Category: Health Care, Performs general clerical and receptionist duties including medical record maintenance, order processing, typing, and/or word processing, and materials management functions on the nursing unit. Assists visitors, nursing staff, and members of the health care team. Assists in the maintenance of a clean and safe environment. Completes all other work-related duties as assigned.

Performs nursing assistant duties under the direct training of the registered nurse, licensed vocational nurse, or director.

Qualifications: Work Experience:

• One year of nursing assistant experience. Hospital setting preferred.

Education and Training:

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Completion of a Nursing Assistant program or equivalent.

License/Registration/Certification:

Current Basic Life Support (BLS)

Skills:

• Ability to interact and communicate with people over the telephone and/or in person, often in stressful situations.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Knowledge of patient medical records and clinical documents.
• Skill in the use of Hospital computer systems related to ADT order entry, requisitions, lab inquiries and other computerized processes and related software/hardware applications.
