Job summary

El Paso Children's Hospital is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator / Nursing Assistant (HUC/NA) for the night shift on the El Paso, TX campus. The role combines clerical duties with patient-care support on the nursing unit.

You will perform medical record maintenance, order processing, typing and word processing, assist visitors and nursing staff, and help maintain a clean, safe environment in a fast-paced health care setting.

Job Details: Level: Entry, Job Location: El Paso Childrens Hospital - El Paso, TX 79905, Position Type: Full Time, Education Level: None, Job Shift: Night, Job Category: Health Care, The Health Unit Coordinator / Nursing Assistant (HUC/NA) performs general clerical and receptionist duties including medical record maintenance, order processing, typing, and/or word processing, and materials management functions on the nursing unit. Assists visitors, nursing staff, and members of the health care team. Assists in the maintenance of a clean and safe environment. Completes all other work related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Successful completion of an approved educational program for nursing assistants or equivalent.
• High School graduate or equivalent.

License/Registration/Certification:

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS)

Skills:

• Ability to interact and communicate with people over the telephone and/or in person, often in stressful situations.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Knowledge of patient medical records and clinical documents.
• Skill in the use of Hospital computer systems related to ADT order entry, requisitions, lab inquiries and other computerized processes and related software/hardware applications.
