Health Unit Coordinator - Float - University Hospital, East Madison Hospital (Finance)

Work Schedule: This is a part-time, 60% FTE day/evening shift position. Shifts are scheduled for 8- and 12-hour shifts Monday through Friday between 7:00 AM and 11:30 PM, including every other weekend. Hours may vary based on departmental needs.

We are seeking a Health Unit Coordinator to:

  • Utilize excellent communication and organizational skills to support patient care.
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to coordinate all aspects of patient care, including admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Maintain high attention to detail when managing electronic health records and performing clerical duties.
  • Maintain control and order under stressful conditions and periods of high activity, while communicating effectively and respectfully with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
Qualifications:

Education: Minimum - High School Diploma.

Work Experience: Minimum - One (1) year of experience in a medical or customer service environment or similar setting. Preferred - One (1) year of experience in a medical environment.
