It features 53 Assisted Living, 9 Memory Care apartments, and 120 skilled and long-term care beds. We are looking for an experienced Health Unit Coordinator to support our residents in our Skilled Nursing Facility - Jones Harrison. This clerical/receptionist role is responsible for supporting the nursing transitional and long-term care units and staff to maintain current internal and external communication flow.

Position Details
  • 80 hours every two weeks
  • Day/evening shifts
  • Weekends as needed

Responsibilities
  • Notify Physician/Advance Practice Staff of visits and appointments; coordinate with resident representatives
  • Coordinate transportation, complete referrals, and order labs/x-rays
  • Maintain resident rosters and staffing sheets
  • Assemble and maintain resident charts for admission, discharge, and hospital return
  • Ensure all forms are accessible, current, and properly filed or faxed
  • Transcribe Physician orders per facility policy
  • Participate in audits and surveys
  • Answer phones professionally and promptly
  • Maintain supply levels for the nursing floor using preferred vendors
Minimum Qualifications
  • 1 year customer service experience
Preferred Education, Licensure, and Certifications
  • Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) or similar Medical Secretary certificate
  • High School diploma or GED
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Knowledge of Electronic Health Care software
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • At least 1 year of experience in healthcare or senior living setting
  • Customer service experience
  • Medical terminology knowledge or coursework
  • Professionalism and problem-solving skills
  • TCU experience
