Job summary

Ascension Health in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a part-time clerical associate for the Med Surg Neuro department. You’ll greet patients, schedule appointments, answer calls, and perform general clerical duties.

This role requires strong communication and organizational skills with duties including timekeeping, patient inquiries, and coordinating with the care team to ensure smooth operations. The position is part-time in days with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Licensure/Certification: BLS Provider preferred within 1 month (30 days) of hire or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors, answer general inquiries, and schedule patients for appointments.
• Answer, screen, and route telephone calls. Perform general clerical duties including filing, email correspondence, and mail distribution.
• Create various reports and documents.
• Communicate with patients, families, physicians and other healthcare team members about patient care.
• Perform unit safety checks. Assist with meeting patient needs and escalates as appropriate.
• May enter and maintain timekeeping changes and staff schedules.
• May assist with stocking supplies and keeping unit and patient rooms clean and orderly.

Education

High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience
