Portland Public Schools seeks a Health teacher for 7th grade. Health content includes current social health issues, such as: mental health, healthy lifestyles, substance abuse, and proper nutrition, among other health-related topics. The following standard areas are part of the health curriculum: Health Concepts, Health Information, Products, and Services, Health Promotion and Risk Reduction, Influences on Health, Communication and Advocacy Skills, Decision-Making, and Goal-Setting Skills.

Education, Training, and Experience

Bachelor's degree in applicable field of education from an accredited college or university

Credential Requirements

• Maine State Teacher Certification with one of the following endorsements:
  • 510 (Physical Education, PK-12)
  • 520 (Health, PK-12)
• Maine State CHRC authorization (more info)
  • if you already have an active teacher certification, you do not need a separate CHRC as this clearance is tied to your teacher certification
