POSITION OVERVIEW:
Portland Public Schools seeks a Health teacher for 7th grade. We are looking for a student-centered instructor who will bring to our physical education department much energy and enthusiasm for working with teenagers in the areas of physical wellness, fitness, and health education. Health content includes current social health issues, such as: mental health, healthy lifestyles, substance abuse, and proper nutrition, among other health-related topics. The following standard areas are part of the health curriculum: Health Concepts, Health Information, Products, and Services, Health Promotion and Risk Reduction,Influences on Health, Communication and Advocacy Skills, Decision-Making, and Goal-Setting Skills.
