Job summary

Valley Health System is seeking a Tradesman for the PLANT MAINTENANCE department. You will perform commercial construction tasks, including drywall, framing, ceilings, and door installation, while maintaining safety and regulatory standards across multiple sites.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, and CDL qualifications may be required for heavy vehicles. Strong communication and leadership abilities are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Commercial construction knowledge required.
• Excellent communication skills required.

• Ability to lead staff and delegate work required.
• Knowledge of NFPA, The Joint Commission, and OSHA regulations preferred.
• Ability to work at various Valley Health sites required.
• Ability to complete competency skills checklist within 6 weeks of hire required.

Responsibilities

• Infection control related to construction dust and debris; protect patients, staff, and visitors from hazards.
• Read and follow permits for construction/renovation projects.
• Maintain project records of time and materials costs.
• Maintain fire/smoke containment systems and related infrastructure.
• Read and follow commercial blueprints.
• Construct and install drywall, framing, ceilings, doors, and wall coverings.
• Build masonry systems and operate specialty equipment.
• Install casework, trim, piping, and electrical components.
• Work with air handling and sprinkler systems for safety compliance.
