Specialized Experience

One year of specialized experience that includes knowledge and understanding of healthcare risk-management functions; experience interpreting multiple levels of interrelated legislative, regulatory, and policy guidance; knowledge of healthcare risk-management case files and the ability to identify healthcare providers with paid malpractice claims; and application of quality-assurance methodologies within medical-facility services. This specialized experience is typically equivalent to work performed at the next lower grade level, GS-11, in the Federal service.

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
