Cardinal Health in Lewiston, ME seeks a Director of Pharmacy to lead hospital pharmacy services, ensuring compliance with legal and accrediting standards while partnering with clinical and administrative leaders.

This role manages budget, staffing, and policy development, supports cost containment and patient care improvements, oversees 340B activities, and drives performance across inpatient, retail, and specialty pharmacy programs.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist with PharmD or B.Pharm and Maine license in good standing.
• Experience managing hospital/health-system pharmacy operations and budgets.
• Experience with 340B program and vendor credentialing.
• Strong leadership, planning, and negotiation skills.
• Retail and specialty pharmacy experience preferred.
• Inpatient/hospital experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly with customers and health care professionals.
• Excellent organizational and leadership capabilities.
• Vendor credentialing may be required.

Responsibilities

• Manage pharmacy budget and P&L.
• Participate in hospital committees to enhance practice and patient care.
• Conduct performance reviews and coach staff.
• Procure drugs and supplies per GPO bids and best practices.
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, hiring/firing and performance management.
• Develop and update Pharmacy Policy and Procedure manual to align with regulations.
• Perform pharmacy tasks including filling and processing orders.
• Other duties as assigned.
