Job summary

Cardinal Health, Inc. is seeking a Director of Pharmacy to plan, organize and direct all functions of hospital pharmacy services in Maine.

This leadership role ensures compliance with legal, regulatory, and accrediting requirements while building relationships with hospital clinical and non-clinical leaders. You will manage the budget and staff, oversee purchasing, and drive policies to improve patient care and cost efficiency in an inpatient hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Management experience required
• Excellent planning, organizing and leadership skills needed
• Strong customer orientation and negotiation skills desired
• Licensed pharmacist in Maine or eligible to obtain licensure
• 340B experience required
• Retail and Specialty Pharmacy experience preferred
• Inpatient/hospital experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Manages the pharmacy budget and financial program (P&L).
• Participates in hospital committee meetings to enhance practice and patient care.
• Coaches staff through one-on-one and team meetings.
• Purchases drugs and supplies per GPO bids and Cardinal Health practices.
• Oversees scheduling, hiring/firing and performance management of staff.
• Maintains Policy and Procedure manuals to align with regulations.
• Performs pharmacy tasks including filling and taking orders.
