Job summary

Cardinal Health, Inc. is seeking a Director of Pharmacy to plan, organize, and direct all functions of hospital pharmacy services in a Maine facility.

The role ensures compliance with legal, regulatory, and accrediting standards while delivering high-quality patient care and managing relationships with clinical and administrative leaders. Responsibilities include budget and P&L oversight, policy development, staff coaching, and participation in hospital committees.

Qualifications

• PharmD or Doctor of Pharmacy; active Maine license or ability to obtain.
• Inpatient/hospital experience required.
• Management experience required.
• Sterile compounding experience preferred.
• 340B program experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly with customers and healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

• Manages department operations and supervises professional employees and staff.
• Oversees budget and P&L; ensures financial performance of the pharmacy.
• Participates in hospital committees and policy development.
• Ensures compliance with legal and regulatory guidelines.
• Maintains a pharmacy policy and procedure manual and updates as needed.
• Applicants may need vendor credentialing.
