Job summary

Responsibilities

• Fills prescriptions and patient orders, resolves discrepancies in patient therapy.
• Utilizes clinical data to evaluate physician orders for appropriate therapy.
• Provides and documents drug information and patient counseling.
• Documents interventions, adverse drug reactions (ADRs), and medication errors.
• Directs and utilizes technicians, aides and clerical staff.
• Maintains adequate medication supply in the unit.
• Participates in systemwide quality and utilization review programs.
• Operates automated dispensing systems and troubleshoots as needed.
