Job summary

Grow Early Learning in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Health Specialist to join our Regional Team. You will coordinate health training and technical assistance for child and family health and safety services at Head Start Centers, review health records, and collaborate with state partners on exams, immunizations, dental, mental health, and nutrition.

You will ensure pre- and post-operational health checks, work with staff to meet strategic goals, and use Word, Excel and Outlook.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor in Public Health or related field required/preferred.
  • Master in Public Health or related field preferred.
  • Public health experience with children and families preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and provide health training and technical assistance for child and family health at Head Start Centers.
  • Review and monitor health records and data entry for accuracy.
  • Collaborate with Head Start partners on health issues including exams, immunizations, dental, mental health, and nutrition.
  • Ensure pre- and post-operational health checks are completed as required.
  • Travel frequently in rural areas to fulfill role requirements.
  • Proficient with Word, Excel and Outlook; CPR/First Aid Instructor certification required or to be obtained.

We are currently seeking a Health Specialist to join our Regional Team in Indianapolis, IN.

Essential Functions:
  • Coordinate and provide training, and technical assistance for child and family health, safety services at Head Start Centers.
  • Review, and monitor health records and data entry for accuracy.
  • Collaborate with Head Start partners in the state on health issues (including children exams, immunizations, dental, mental, and nutrition).
  • Work with staff to ensure pre and post operational health and safety checks/procedures are completed as required.
  • Work with all departments to create and achieve strategic goals.
  • Proficient computer skills using Microsoft applications: Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Must acquire and maintain CPR/First Aid Instructors Certification (Adult/Infant/Toddler) by an accredited organization.
  • Frequent travel in rural areas in/out of the state.
Qualifications:
  • Preferred : Master in Public Health - Public Health, Maternal and Child Health, Nursing, or other health-related field. Three years working with children and families in field related to degree. Head Start experience preferred.
  • Accepted : Bachelor in Public Health - Public Health, Maternal and Child Health, Nursing, or other health-related field. Five years working with children and families in field related to degree.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
