Health Specialist

Provides administrative support in the Health area to staff in 0‑5 Early Childhood programs. Monitors documentation of children’s health data and enters information in the data management system. Schedules health services for the children at the centers. Reports to the Director — Health, Wellness and Diverse Learners.

Candidate Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in Health Services, Social Services or related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with database management required; experience maintaining health data a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and daily access to reliable transportation required.
  • Ability to communicate in both English and Spanish preferred.
Job Responsibilities
  • Schedules hearing, vision, and oral health screenings for children throughout the year.
  • Creates the schedule of annual health screenings and updates screening dates as needed.
  • Enters health data in the data management system for clients served, including physical exams, well‑baby check reports, hearing and vision screenings, immunizations, and oral health exams.
  • Completes monthly reports of services provided and scheduled for the sites.
  • Reports to the Family Support Services Supervisor regarding missing health documentation on a monthly basis or as needed.
  • Works in collaboration with the nurse and nutrition consultants to schedule regular monitoring of children’s files.
Job Details
  • Compensation: Hourly, range $20.00 - $22.00 per hour; bilingual candidates may receive additional financial compensation. Final salary will be determined based on experience, education, qualifications, skills, certifications and alignment with organizational needs.
  • Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision insurance; 3+ weeks paid time off in the first year (including the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day) with incremental PTO; 11 paid holidays; supplemental insurance options; 401(k) with company match.
  • Location: Office-based position located at the Child and Family Center in Carpentersville.
  • Schedule: Full-time; hourly.
