Qualifications

• Three years of progressive clinical/healthcare management experience.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Georgia RN/NP licensure is helpful but not required.
• CCHP certification is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a 24/7 healthcare operation at the Muscogee County Jail.

• Focus on staffing/retention, intake screenings, sick-call response, and medication administration.

Job description

The Sycamore Group is partnering with FirstClass Healthcare to identify a Health Service Administrator to lead healthcare operations at the Muscogee County Jail in Columbus, Georgia. FirstClass Healthcare is a privately owned, rapidly growing provider of care to county correctional facilities across the Southeast. They have a cohesive/stable executive team and fantastic culture.

This is a significant operational leadership role overseeing healthcare delivery for a correctional facility with an average daily population of approximately 1,250. The HSA will serve as the senior on-site healthcare leader, with responsibility for building a strong team, driving operational performance, and ensuring high-quality medical, dental and behavioral health services.

We’re looking for someone who wants to own the operation — not manage it from behind a desk.

The strongest candidates will be visible and approachable leaders who spend time with their teams, understand what's happening on the floor, know their performance metrics, and take accountability for improving them. Key areas of focus include staffing and retention, timely intake screenings, sick-call response times, medication administration, service continuity, quality and compliance.

The opportunity is particularly interesting because there is already momentum within the operation, while still providing plenty of runway for a new leader to make an impact. The HSA will oversee a 24/7 healthcare operation and work closely with nursing leadership, physicians, behavioral health, facility leadership and FirstClass Healthcare executives. The formal scope includes staff recruitment and development, quality improvement, healthcare utilization, vendor oversight, budgeting, compliance and operational performance.

We are looking for strong healthcare operators from adjacent settings - experience doesn't have to come directly from correctional facilities. Candidates should have at least three years of progressive clinical/healthcare management experience; the position requires a bachelor's degree. Georgia RN/NP licensure and CCHP certification are helpful, but not required.
