Job summary

Apple Inc. seeks a hardworking mechanical engineer in the San Francisco Bay Area to lead end-to-end health sensing design and validation for Apple products. You will develop, characterize, and validate mechanical concepts, working with a multifunctional team to deliver high-performance sensing systems.

You will apply solid mechanics, heat transfer, and FEA to ensure robust designs, while coordinating with vendors and internal teams to meet stringent cosmetic and manufacturing standards.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• Strong fundamentals in mechanical design, tolerance analysis, and manufacturing considerations.
• Experience with sensor modules, PCB packaging, and documentation practices.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD, GD&T, and FEA concepts; ability to analyze and reduce design risk.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design, development, and validation of health sensing technology for Apple products.
• Identify tradeoffs and risks to select viable design paths.
• Apply experiment design and scientific method to reduce design risk early.
• Run tolerance studies to ensure manufacturability within tolerances.
• Support external manufacturing vendors with process development and root cause analysis; travel 15–25%.
