Job summary

UC Irvine invites applications for a Disability Services Specialist in the College of Health Sciences. You will serve as the expert for disability accommodations across medicine, nursing, pharmacy, and public health, coordinating services for students with qualified disabilities to enhance access and retention.

Under the Director of the Disability Services Center, you will review sensitive documentation, determine reasonable accommodations, and partner with faculty and administrators to

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of medical terminology and medical reports.
• Excellent written and spoken communication for diverse audiences.
• Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment on complex problems.
• Commitment to ethical and inclusive learning environments.
• Experience building relationships with departments to support students.
• Advanced degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in disability services or related field.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate services for COHS students with disabilities across programs.
• Review confidential disability documentation and determine accommodations.
• Serve as primary contact for prospective and newly admitted students.
• Advise faculty and administrators on disability-related needs and curricular accommodations.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state disability laws and regulations.
