Job summary

The University of Massachusetts Amherst seeks an Academic Success Advisor in the School of Public Health & Health Sciences to provide comprehensive advising for undeclared and exploratory track students, with emphasis on first-year and at-risk students.

You will coordinate programs, support NSO, guide 4+1 students, and collaborate with departmental advisors, Center for Counseling and Psychological Health, and Registrar to promote academic success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience in academic advising or related student-facing roles.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice.
• Ability to handle confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Advise and counsel diverse incoming class of first-year, undeclared, exploratory track and transfer students.
• Advise across SPHHS programs and 4+1 accelerated master's students.
• Assist with registration, degree requirements, major declaration.
• Support NSO events and departmental initiatives.
• Collaborate with campus resources for student support and referrals.
