Qualifications

Associate’s degree in health science from a regionally accredited institution.
Alabama license in health profession (RN/NP/PT/OT/MD/PA).
Completion of state requirements to gain teacher certification.
Current license and/or certification in field.
Passing scores on the basic skills assessment (AECAP) in Reading, Writing and Arithmetic.
Ability to meet suitability criteria under Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999/Act No. 2002-457.
Ability to develop curriculum and programming for designated grades/subjects.
Proficiency in oral and written communication.
Effective interpersonal and collaborative skills.
Ability to use technology to communicate, plan, provide instruction, and manage data.

Responsibilities

Demonstrates support for the school system and its vision, goals and priorities.
Demonstrates knowledge of career technical education in the assigned field.
Implements current educational research and best instructional practices.
Utilizes technology to plan and provide instruction and facilitate student learning.
Models innovative use of technology for students.
Maintains a learning environment with active student engagement.
Develops long-range instructional plans based on curriculum priorities and student profiles.
Defines goals and objectives for instructional plans and daily lessons.
Monitors student progress using assessments and data.
Provides feedback to students to improve performance.
Administers standardized tests and credentialing assessments.
Maintains confidentiality of school matters as required by law and policy.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned by Supervisors.
