Job summary

Canfor is seeking a Health, Safety & Training (HST) Advisor to organize safety, on‑the‑job, operational and values training for all plant employees. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will partner with the Management team and support site staff on safety initiatives.

You will lead safety orientation, manage training needs, and conduct safety reviews and audits while coordinating environmental responsibilities with Canfor’s environmental team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years in training & development within health/safety.
• Experience in managing Safety Programs is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety best practices.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate safety and operational orientation for new hires.
• Collaborate to develop and maintain career development plans and training needs.
• Conduct mill safety reviews, investigations and audits.
• Chair safety committee meetings and promote safety participation.
• Provide guidance and support for trainers and policies.
• Coordinate environmental responsibilities with Canfor’s environmental team.
